National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) New York Chapter
National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) New York Scholarships are presented to NAHN-NY Chapter student nurse members enrolled in nursing programs leading to licensure and educational advancement. Scholarship award recipients are a select group of students who demonstrate promise for contributions to the nursing profession, to the community and to act as role models for other aspiring nursing students.
You must be actively enrolled in a nursing program. (ADN, BSN, Masters, Doctoral etc.)
Students must have at least one semester’s worth of work completed prior to the time completing the scholarship application. Pre-nursing status will not be considered.
Verification of membership status in the NAHN New York chapter for at least 6 months.
An official transcript from the college of a nursing program.
Please request and mail your transcript in a timely fashion.
All transcripts must be received by November 15th

Resume or CV which includes earned certificates, awards, and special honors.
Two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty members outlining the applicant’s future professional contribution to the nursing profession and the potential to act as a role model for other aspiring students. Recommendations must be emailed to nahnnyscholarships@gmail.com
Type 300 words maximum essay using 12 font Times New Roman, double spaced, on a Word document. Students will choose one of the following essay topics:
What have you learned about yourself in school and how will you apply that to your career?
How has COVID impacted you and your experiences and how has that affected your view of your career?
How has NAHN-NY helped you in your education, job and how would you pay it forward?
What committee or board position would most excite you and what would you bring to that position? What do you recommend NAHN-NY do to recruit more members and engage members in committees?
Academic excellence (Minimum of GPA of 3.0 preferred).
All applications must be submitted by the deadline date - November 15th.
The NAHN New York scholarship application form with all sections completed by the student. Any incomplete applications will not be considered.
