Evidence of Compliance:

University policy and the Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) state that each full-time faculty member shall carry a load of 15 weighted units per semester. This is composed of 12 units of instruction and three units for instructionally-related and university responsibilities such as advising, committee work, etc. From 2013-2018, a typical semester teaching assignment for full-time faculty included three 3-unit courses, and assigned time. Three units of assigned time is awarded for the first three years for new tenure track faculty. Faculty in their fourth year or later are eligible for various internal release time grants.
