First Experiences in Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research’s First Experiences in Research (FE-R) program facilitates meaningful spring term mentorships between faculty researchers and undergraduates in the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. Students perform hands-on research alongside expert faculty from the social sciences, natural sciences, and the humanities. While undergraduates gain close engagement with their academic studies, faculty members receive enthusiastic assistance from students eager to participate directly in their field of study. Archival Scholars Research Award

The Office of Undergraduate Research and the University Library System (ULS) support 10 undergraduate scholars and researchers from the humanities as Archival Scholars Researc Award recipients each spring. Awardees develop independent research projects that draw upon resources found in the University Library System’s archives. The ULS is proud to have special collections and archives housed in the Archives Service Center (ASC), Center for American Music (CAM), Fine Arts Library (FA), The Theodore M. Finney Music Library and Hillman Library's Special Collections Department (SC). Contact our@pitt.edu to learn how to participate in academic year 2018-19.
