In 2009, Jen Miller's son enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. and Jen was terrified and lost. Searching Facebook for support groups didn't yield the "Marine Moms only" support results she was hoping for. She had connected locally with two other enlistee moms and the three felt the same: lost and without support and information from a seasoned Marine mom. It was then that Jen founded M.O.M.S. - Moms of Marines Support - and created the first M.O.M.S.'s now-six distinctive support groups.

M.O.M.S. has since grown to over 5,000 moms on the U.S. Marine Corps. journey--supporting one another--and M.O.M.S. overseeing the distinctive support groups that support them through every phase of the journey--from enlistment into veteranhood.

At the close of the 12-year juncture of M.O.M.S.'s leadership, 2021, Jen knew it was time to pass the directorship torch on. Her Marine was then in his seventh year as a Veteran of War, a Marine Infantry Heavy Machine Gunner who served in the war in Afghanistan: Operation Enduring Freedom.
