I purchased this toyota echo from a dealership in Gatineau, Quebec in 2009. I was the second owner and the vehicle had 54000 KM on its odometer at the time. I have done my best to kept the car in immaculate condition. It has had regular services at the dealership, both in Ontario and on Vancouver Island. The car has not been in any major collisions, however the windscreen and the front drivers side panel have been replaced for cosmetic reasons. There are some small scrapes, bumps, and a touch of wear and tear… but considering the vehicle is now 14 years old, it’s in amazing shape. 9/10.
Every mechanic who has serviced this car has urged me to never sell it. I’ve been told that it will last forever and because the parts are small and cheap that the car is easy and inexpensive to maintain.
The engine is a 1.4 Litre, 4 cylinder, front wheel drive which puts out about 107 horsepower. Now that’s not a lot, but the car is pretty light so it really feels like you’re piloting a fighter jet. A true rocket ship. You will blow past cars on the highway as a blue streak.
The small engine also makes the echo incredibly economical when it comes to fuel. It takes about $50.00 to fill the tank and it lasts me roughly two weeks. I do a ton of driving for work. The interweb suggests the echo get 8.4 litres/100km in the city (28 MPG) and 6.4 litres/100km on the Highway (37 MPG) but I have found that it’s pretty much 36.47 MPG across the board. That’s 15.6 KM per Litre (unheard of) it's 59 KM per Gallon (AMAZING).
I don’t really want to sell this car. But I am going to, if the price is right. If this was a four door model this ad wouldn’t be up. Our family just bought a 2019 VW Golf Sportswagon 1.4 Litre front wheel drive that has comparable fuel consumption rates and a few more bells and whistles. It’s basically the exact same engine but in a car with 2 more doors and extra cargo space… exactly what my family needs.
So the spoils go to you… You can have my 2005 Toyota Echo… If you want it.
