If you want a robust, tool-free mounting solution specifically designed to elevate your CarPlay screen above the dashboard using your vehicle's CD slot, choose 1Zero Extended Arm Car; if you need a lightweight, versatile suction cup system for a dashcam or GPS that relies on windshield adhesion and includes multiple adapters, choose EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup.
• 1Zero Extended Arm Car: Its biggest strength is the reinforced, extended arm that stabilizes screens over rough roads while keeping them out of the way of built-in displays; its trade-off is that it requires a standard horizontal CD slot and cannot be used with curved or hidden slots.
• EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup: Its biggest strength is the all-in-one kit with five adapters and a high-grip PVC suction cup that performs well in warm conditions without needing a specific car slot; its trade-off is that it occupies space on the windshield and lacks the heavy-duty stabilization of an internal mount.
• Who each pick is for: The 1Zero is for drivers who prioritize a clean, unobtrusive view for Apple CarPlay or large GPS units inside the cabin, while the EfforPrac is for users who need a quick, removable setup for recording devices or smaller navigation tools on the glass.
The 1Zero Adjustable Extended Arm Car CD Slot Mount is engineered for a very specific type of driver: one who has upgraded their vehicle with a portable Apple CarPlay screen or a standalone GPS unit but wants to avoid the clutter of a messy dashboard or a blocked windshield. This product solves the common problem of limited visibility by extending the device upward. With an adjustable height range from 3.2 inches to 4.7 inches, it allows you to position your screen higher than the standard dashboard level, ensuring that your line of sight isn't obstructed by the instrument cluster or the steering wheel.
Its design philosophy centers on stability and integration within the car's existing structure. The mount features an expandable locking mechanism that secures into CD slots up to 0.79 inches thick. Once installed, the reinforced construction and multiple support points are intended to reduce vibration significantly. This means that whether you are braking hard, taking a sharp corner, or driving over uneven terrain, your screen remains steady rather than wobbling or shifting. This is crucial for anyone trying to read navigation instructions quickly while keeping their eyes on the road.
However, this product is not a universal fit for every vehicle interior. It is strictly designed for most standard horizontal CD slots. If your car features a curved, hidden, recessed, or non-standard CD slot design, this mount simply will not work. Furthermore, there is a critical compatibility warning regarding modern vehicles: if your car has a built-in screen, do not use this holder as it may obstruct your factory display. Similarly, if you have a CarPlay screen with a built-in dashcam, placing it in the CD slot might block the camera lens, ruining the recording quality.

The EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup Mount is a different beast entirely, catering to users who value flexibility and portability over permanent installation. This kit is designed to accommodate a wide variety of devices, including DVRs and GPS systems, thanks to its inclusion of five different adapters. This "all-in-one" approach means you likely won't need to hunt down additional hardware to make your specific camera or navigation device fit.
The standout feature here is the suction cup technology. Made from PVC, the cup is engineered to provide a reliable holding strength even in warm conditions where other adhesives might fail. It grips the windshield securely to prevent slipping or falling during use. The swivel ball adapter head adds another layer of utility, allowing you to rotate and tilt your device to find the optimal recording angle. Whether you are setting up a dashcam to capture the road ahead or positioning a GPS for a clear view of the map, the ability to adjust the angle freely is a significant advantage.
This product shines when you need a solution that doesn't require drilling, screwing, or relying on a specific car part like a CD slot. It is ideal for renters, people who switch cars frequently, or those who simply prefer to keep their mounting hardware off the dashboard to maintain a cleaner look. However, because it adheres to the windshield, it does occupy a portion of your field of vision, which some drivers find distracting. Additionally, while the suction cup is strong, it is inherently less stable than a rigid internal mount when driving on extremely rough roads, though the ball joint helps mitigate some movement. You must verify that your device fits the included adapters before purchasing, as the versatility depends on matching the device size to the provided options.
• Best for dashcam recording → EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup, due to its swivel head and adapters optimized for DVRs.
• Best for avoiding windshield obstruction → 1Zero Extended Arm Car, since it mounts internally in the CD slot, leaving the glass clear.
• Best for vehicles without CD slots → EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup, as it attaches directly to the windshield.
• Best for heavy vibration resistance → 1Zero Extended Arm Car, featuring reinforced construction and multiple support points.
• Best for temperature resilience → EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup, with a PVC cup designed to hold well in warm conditions.
• Best for quick, tool-free setup → Both excel here, but 1Zero locks into the slot while EfforPrac sticks to the glass in seconds.
• Best for multi-device versatility → EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup, offering five adapters to fit various popular devices.
After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases, I would buy the 1Zero Extended Arm Car if my primary goal was to run a portable Apple CarPlay screen or a large GPS unit in my vehicle. The ability to extend the arm and secure the device firmly within the CD slot offers a much cleaner, more professional look compared to a suction cup hanging from the windshield. It keeps the device out of the direct line of sight while remaining easily accessible, which is essential for safe driving.
Conversely, if I were setting up a dedicated dashcam or needed a temporary GPS mount that I could move between different cars daily, I would choose the EfforPrac Cam Suction Cup. Its adaptability and lack of dependency on a specific CD slot make it the superior choice for general-purpose mounting. Ultimately, for electric vehicles or any modern car where preserving the aesthetic and minimizing visual clutter is key, the 1Zero Extended Arm Car provides the more integrated and stable solution I am looking for.
