My name is Nicole Cato. I am a cum laude graduate of the private college LaGrange College where I earned my Bachelors of Arts in Spanish.

There I led Spanish study sessions, Spanish Club, and our foreign language honor society Alpha Mu Gamma. I was also a writer and editor for the school news, member of the academic integrity Honor Council and the national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa, as well as an English-Spanish bilingual tutor in the LC Writing Center.

Before I was able to go there as a First Generation College Graduate and to do so much there, I had to do a lot to earn the SAT score to get accepted to there and my other top choice, Agnes Scott College.

In high school I was a star student earning a 4.0 in my college prep and honors classes but I struggled to crack the SAT test becoming especially frustrated with its ability to stump me in my strongest subject English with its uniquely puzzling test format of critical reading and writing and vocabulary.

Since my family didn't have the money for me to afford a SAT tutor, I spent many evenings on the bus ride home, long nights, and early hours before the test (that I took 3 times) teaching myself how to ace it. My score increased 200 points! My English score went from around average to above 90 percent of all other students testing at the time. This allowed me to achieve the distinguished Founders Scholarship of merit at my alma mater.

Since college, for over nine years now, I have taught thousands of students of all ages English language through afterschool organizations and national and international educational enrichment programs and my online work as an ESL-certified bilingual tutor for the last three years with tutoring companies like VIPkid and Cambly where I have a 5 star rating.

For me teaching what I know one to one to enlighten and empower students on their educational journeys is fun, and I bring a zest to teaching as a tutor with a zing.

As a student I felt like I needed a personal guide, someone who had gone before me taking careful notes.
