OAS BADGES (The "9x9s")

These badges "follow" you through your entire Scouting "career" -- you keep leveling up as you grow.

They also factor into other awards, such as the Chief Scout's Award.

• Aquatic Skills (eg: swimming, SCUBA)
• Camping Skills
• Emergency Aid Skills
• Paddling Skills (eg: canoeing, kayaking)
• Sailing Skills
• Scoutcraft (eg: pioneering, knots)
• Trail Skills
• Vertical Skills (eg: rock climbing)
• Winter Skills

PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT BADGES (PAs)

These are a different kind of badge from the 9x9s. They're completely optional, and you get to help decide what earns you the badge.

TOP SECTION AWARDS

You can earn these awards based on your overall growth and performance within scouting. There are two broad categories:

• Transition awards, which are earned for year-to-year progress & growth. There are four levels. More information about the "year end review" can be found HERE.
• Chief Scout's Award, which is earned for your overall growth during your Scout years.
