The 1st Simultaneous Multi-Frequency (SMF) Workshop will be held on July 28-30 (Thursday to Saturday) in the days before the IAU General Assembly. It will be held at Sejong University located in the center of Seoul, South Korea.
It is fair to say that SMF receivers represent the future of mm-wave radio astronomy. And now, especially with KVN-style multi-frequency simultaneous receivers being rolled out across the world, it is an excellent opportunity to gather for an informal discussion of both current and future science and technologies. The workshop is deliberately timed to coincide with the IAU GA. As most people will be flying into Incheon Airport, if they wish to attend the workshop they can join as is convenient.
The main aim of the workshop will be to discuss and begin developing science and technological cases for use with upcoming global SMF VLBI arrays.
Topics to be discussed include:
Current science using SMF telescopes.
Future science using facilities coming online in the near future
Technical discussions regarding SMF receivers
Calibration strategies and pipelining.
