The principle of the Great Commission, as spoken of by Jesus Himself in Matthew 28:19-20, compels us out of love to share the Good News of His glorious Word to all humankind.
Ministry Impact
Over the years, FIMC has helped many both hear the Gospel and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life. Even as a small congregation, many thousands are now hearing God's Word via new technological means and people are renewing their faith in God and many are finding that faith for the first time. Many kind, decent people are drowning in the worries, frustrations and sins of this world. Like a rescue squad for God, FIMC throws out a lifeline that is anchored in the eternal hope of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible. During these days of tremendous social upheaval, we are seeing a new interest in personal salvation developing via social media and other technological connections.
Our Worship Ministry expresses the heart of each participant in praise and thanksgiving for God's daily blessings and eternal provisions for each of us through Jesus Christ. We have both simple, informal worship times and services that are more traditional and expressive of the historic Methodist heritage. The key to genuine worship is participation. Expressions of worship include prayer, Scripture reading, preaching and teaching of the Word of God, music in both congregational singing and special presentations, giving, testimony and much more. We enjoy both in-person and online worship opportunities and are glad to share them with all who would participate.
The first expression of heart-felt faith is a prayer for salvation. From that point forward, a believer is to pray continually regardless of circumstances for a wide-range of matters, but most importantly to express a constant praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father. Our Prayer Ministry gives substance to teachings concerning prayer, provides a point of contact for those who desire a sincere prayer partner, and promises a level of confidentiality comparable to one's attorney or physician. One may need help praying for the anguish of sin, seek company in praying for specific lost persons, or have a reason to ask another to remember them in prayer that to themselves alone seems most important. We stand with those who will seek the Heavenly Father's blessing in any and all matters. As with most everything else we do as a congregation these days, our Prayer Ministry also has an online element that offers the same earnest prayer team with the same promise of confidentiality to all.
To get to know the heart and will of God, to understand salvation, to become informed of God's promises and provisions for our lives; and so much, much more; one must study God's Word.
