Buddy Book by Nigel Hinton

    Plot Summary

    The novel begins with Buddy wanting some money to go on a school trip, but his mother Carol refuses to give him any. Buddy steals the money from her purse, but she soon finds out and confronts him. She calls him a thief and compares him to his father Terry, who was sent to prison for breaking and entering. She then leaves the house, leaving Buddy alone.
