If you want a dedicated, lightweight sport companion with a physical remote and proven wireless stability for intense workouts, choose 1MORE iBFree in-Ear Earphones; if you need superior call clarity, modern low-latency performance, and extended total battery life for work and daily commuting, choose Defunc True LITE II.
• 1MORE iBFree: Delivers CD-like audio quality with aptX codec support and a secure, angled ergonomic fit designed specifically for running and gym sessions; its trade-off is an older Bluetooth version (4.1) and shorter standalone playtime of just 8 hours.
• Defunc True LITE II: Offers modern Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity with ENC technology for crystal clear calls and a massive 20-hour total playtime including the case; its trade-off is the lack of a physical inline remote, relying instead on touch controls which some users find less precise during movement.
• Who picks 1MORE: The runner or athlete who prioritizes a locked-in physical fit, wired-style control convenience, and high-fidelity music codecs over raw battery duration.
• Who picks Defunc: The professional worker or commuter who needs seamless call quality, the latest connectivity standards, and all-day listening power without carrying extra charging cables.
The 1MORE iBFree is engineered with a singular focus: keeping you moving while delivering pristine audio. When I look at the specifications, the first thing that stands out is the specific design choice of an "inclined angle" paired with extra ear tips and sport grips. This isn't just about aesthetics; it is a functional solution for people who need sleep headphones for work that won't fall out during a jog, a run, or a heavy lifting session. The product description emphasizes that these are built to stay put, ensuring that your music never stops because an earbud slipped out of your ear.
For the professional who values audio fidelity above all else, the inclusion of the CSR Bluetooth chip and the aptX codec is a significant detail. Unlike standard Bluetooth transmission, aptX allows for higher data throughput, which translates to that "CD-like" wireless audio quality mentioned in the specs. This is powered by a dynamic driver featuring a PET and aerospace-level titanium diaphragm. If your work involves listening to detailed podcasts, audiobooks, or complex music tracks where every instrument needs to be distinct, this driver configuration ensures you hear exactly what was intended. The frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz covers the full spectrum of human hearing, making it a robust choice for critical listening.

However, there are limitations you must consider before buying. The battery life offers 8 hours of continuous playback, which is sufficient for most days but falls short compared to newer competitors that offer double that time. Furthermore, the Bluetooth version is 4.1. While this provides a stable 32-foot range and quick connection speeds, it lacks the efficiency and latency improvements found in newer generations. The device also features an in-line box that handles volume control, playback, and charging. This is a distinct advantage for those who prefer tactile buttons over touch screens, especially when wearing gloves or sweating. But if you are looking for the best low latency headphones for work involving video conferencing or watching clips, the older Bluetooth protocol might introduce slight delays that the newer model avoids.
This product is ideal for the active user who wants a secure fit and a familiar control scheme. It is less suitable for someone who needs to rely on voice assistants constantly or who requires a device that can last through a multi-day business trip without needing a charge every night. The IPX4 waterproof rating is excellent for light rain and sweat, but it is not submersible, so it remains strictly an exercise and outdoor companion rather than a swim-ready device.
The Defunc True LITE II represents a shift toward modern, minimalist utility. Designed with Scandinavian principles in mind, the focus here is on effortless integration into your daily routine. The semi-in-ear ergonomic fit is described as comfortable enough for all-day wear, whether you are commuting, working in an office, or traveling. This makes it a strong contender for anyone seeking the best crystal clear calls open ear headphones for work, particularly because of the Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) feature. In a noisy office or a busy coffee shop, ENC helps isolate your voice from background chatter, ensuring the person on the other end hears you clearly without distortion.
One of the most compelling arguments for the Defunc True LITE II is its battery ecosystem. With a total playtime of 20 hours, you are looking at significantly more usage than the 1MORE option. While the 1MORE earbuds give you 8 hours alone, the Defunc system includes a charging case that extends your listening time dramatically. This is crucial for professionals who might start their day early and finish late, needing a device that doesn't die before they get home. The battery charges quickly, and the case itself is compact, measuring just 5 centimeters in length, making it easy to slip into a pocket or small bag.
Connectivity is another area where the Defunc True LITE II pulls ahead. It utilizes Bluetooth 6.0, the latest standard in wireless audio. This newer protocol promises lower latency, which is vital for anyone who watches videos, participates in virtual meetings, or plays games while listening. Low latency ensures that audio stays synchronized with visual content, preventing that annoying lag where your lips don't match the sound. Additionally, the AI app support suggests a level of customization and smart features that adapt to your listening habits, though this relies on the software side of things.
The trade-off here is the control method. Instead of a physical inline remote with buttons, the Defunc True LITE II uses touch controls. While this keeps the design sleek and modern, it can be frustrating during intense workouts or when your hands are wet. You cannot feel the buttons to press them accurately, which might lead to accidental skips or pauses. Also, the driver size is listed as a 13mm bass driver. While this delivers rich bass and balanced stereo sound, it may not offer the same level of intricate detail retrieval as the titanium-diaphragm dynamic driver found in the 1MORE iBFree. If you are an audiophile who cares deeply about the separation of instruments, the Defunc might feel slightly less refined in the mid-range, though it excels in general enjoyment.
This product fits the professional who prioritizes battery longevity, call quality, and modern connectivity over rugged sport-specific features. It is perfect for the office worker, the traveler, or the student who needs a reliable pair of earbuds for lectures and meetings. However, if you are a serious runner who hates touching the earbud to change songs, the touch interface might become a nuisance.
• Best for battery endurance → Defunc True LITE II (20 hours total playtime vs. 8 hours standalone).
• Best for audio codec fidelity → 1MORE iBFree (aptX support ensures higher bitrate streaming than standard Bluetooth).
• Best for secure athletic fit → 1MORE iBFree (angled design with sport grips prevents falling during high-impact activity).
• Best for call clarity in noise → Defunc True LITE II (dedicated ENC technology isolates voice better than standard isolation).
• Best for tactile control preference → 1MORE iBFree (physical inline remote is easier to use with gloves or sweat).
• Best for modern connectivity → Defunc True LITE II (Bluetooth 6.0 offers lower latency and faster pairing than 4.1).
• Best for portability and weight → 1MORE iBFree (14 grams is lighter than the combined weight of the Defunc buds and case).
• Best for water resistance → Both (Both carry an IPX4 rating for sweat and light rain protection).
After weighing the specifications and considering real-world scenarios, I would personally buy the Defunc True LITE II for my work setup. The combination of Bluetooth 6.0 and ENC technology directly addresses the two biggest pain points for professionals: connection stability and call quality. While the 1MORE iBFree is an incredible piece of engineering for the gym, the 20-hour battery life of the Defunc means I never have to worry about finding a charger during a long workday. The touch controls are a minor inconvenience, but the reliability of the call system and the ability to listen to podcasts and music all day without interruption make it the smarter choice for daily productivity.
