If you want active noise cancelling open ear headphones for vlogging with the longest possible battery life and a secure over-ear fit that blocks out engine roar, choose 1Mii Y8+; if you need true wireless earbuds for vlogging that let you control playback from the case itself without ever touching your phone, choose Bucephalus Earbuds.
• 1Mii Y8+: Offers an impressive 100-hour playtime and hybrid active noise cancellation designed to neutralize low-frequency noise like airplane engines, but it is a bulky over-ear design that may not suit everyone's aesthetic or portability needs.
• Bucephalus Earbuds: Features a unique smart touchscreen on the charging case for hands-free control and ultra-lightweight in-ear comfort, though its total battery life caps at 48 hours and the drivers are smaller than those in the 1Mii.
• Best For: The 1Mii Y8+ is ideal for long-haul travelers and content creators who prioritize isolation and endurance, while the Bucephalus Earbuds are perfect for mobile creators who value gesture control and pocket-sized convenience.
The 1Mii Y8+ is engineered for the person who treats their audio gear as a sanctuary. With its hybrid active noise cancellation system, this headphone creates a personal cocoon of sound by neutralizing low-frequency noise, which is exactly what you need when trying to record voiceovers on a busy street or edit footage on a moving train. If you are a vlogger who shoots outdoors frequently, the ability to block out wind and traffic hum is a game-changer for audio quality.
Comfort is another pillar here. These headphones use hydrolysis-resistant protein leather paired with memory foam, meaning they stay pressure-free even during marathon recording sessions. I imagine someone wearing these for a full day of travel or a long home office session would find them significantly more comfortable than standard hard-plastic alternatives. The 100-hour average playtime is not just a number; it translates to weeks of usage before needing a charge. For a creator who might forget to plug in their gear overnight, knowing you have 100 hours of battery means you never have to worry about running dry mid-shoot.

However, this product is not for everyone. Its over-ear design, while excellent for isolation, adds weight and bulk. At 8.64 ounces, these are substantial items that sit firmly on your head. If you are filming a fast-paced vlog where you need to run around, jump, or move vigorously, the stability of over-ear headphones can sometimes be a distraction compared to something lighter. Additionally, the reliance on Bluetooth 6.0 and a dedicated app for features like AI translation and custom EQ means you need to be comfortable with a smartphone companion for the full experience. This isn't a "grab and go" solution for minimalists; it is a dedicated station for deep focus and high-fidelity audio work.
The Bucephalus Earbuds cater specifically to the modern, on-the-go creator who wants maximum control without fumbling with screens. The standout feature here is undoubtedly the smart touchscreen case. Instead of digging into your pocket to unlock your phone or open an app to adjust volume or switch tracks, you can manage everything directly from the case. You can answer calls, locate your buds, select listening modes, and even use the camera remote without ever touching your device. For a vlogger holding a camera with one hand and adjusting settings with the other, this level of tactile independence is incredibly practical.
In terms of sound, these earbuds pack 13mm dynamic drivers capable of delivering deep bass and crisp highs. While the driver size is smaller than the 40mm units found in the 1Mii, the inclusion of five distinct EQ modes—Bass, Rock, Pop, Classical, and Jazz—allows you to tailor the sound profile to your specific content style. Whether you are shooting a high-energy fitness video requiring punchy bass or a calm travelogue needing balanced vocals, you have the tools to shape the audio right there in the case. The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) works alongside ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) to ensure your voice remains clear during calls, even in noisy environments.
The lightweight, ergonomic design makes these a natural choice for anyone who prioritizes discretion and comfort during movement. Weighing only 5.67 grams per unit, they are nearly invisible in the ear, making them less obtrusive when filming yourself. They offer up to 48 hours of total playtime, which is sufficient for most daily workflows, though it falls short of the 1Mii's marathon endurance. The Bluetooth 5.4 connection ensures a stable link up to 33 feet, providing reliable connectivity for wireless freedom. However, the trade-off is that you are limited to in-ear placement, which some users find less isolating than the over-ear seal of larger headphones, and the 2-hour charge time is slightly longer than some competitors.
• Best for extreme battery life → 1Mii Y8+: With 100 hours of playtime versus 48 hours, the 1Mii wins decisively for long trips or multi-day shoots without access to power.
• Best for hands-free control → Bucephalus Earbuds: The built-in touchscreen case allows you to manage calls, volume, and modes without ever reaching for your phone.
• Best for blocking low-frequency noise → 1Mii Y8+: The hybrid ANC is specifically noted for neutralizing engine noise, creating a deeper sense of isolation for recording.
• Best for lightweight mobility → Bucephalus Earbuds: At under 6 grams per bud, they are far less intrusive for active vlogging and running errands.
• Best for customizable sound profiles → Bucephalus Earbuds: Five dedicated EQ modes let you switch between Bass, Rock, Pop, Classical, and Jazz instantly via the case.
• Best for large driver audio depth → 1Mii Y8+: The 40mm dynamic drivers offer a wider frequency range and potentially richer soundstage than the 10mm/13mm drivers in the earbuds.
• Best for AI integration → 1Mii Y8+: Includes built-in AI assistant features for chat, translation, and productivity tasks directly through the headphones.
• Best for quick pairing and range → Bucephalus Earbuds: Bluetooth 5.4 offers a stable 33-foot range with fast pairing capabilities suitable for various devices.
For my own setup, if I were building a rig specifically for vlogging, I would choose the 1Mii Y8+. While the Bucephalus earbuds offer a clever touchscreen interface, the sheer advantage of the 100-hour battery life and the superior isolation provided by the hybrid ANC makes the 1Mii the more reliable tool for serious content creation. When you are out in the field, the last thing you want is to worry about charging your audio gear or fighting against ambient noise that ruins your audio track. The over-ear form factor, while heavier, provides the consistent, comfortable seal needed for long recording sessions. In my opinion, the 1Mii Y8+ strikes the better balance between endurance, noise isolation, and audio fidelity for a professional workflow.
While the Bucephalus earbuds feature ENC for clear calls and 13mm drivers, the 1Mii Y8+ over-ear design generally offers better isolation and a larger driver size, making it more suitable for capturing high-quality audio in noisy environments.
The 1Mii Y8+ boasts an impressive 100-hour average playtime, whereas the Bucephalus Earbuds provide up to 48 hours with the charging case, making the 1Mii the clear winner for extended usage without recharging.
Yes, the Bucephalus Earbuds allow you to manage volume, tracks, and modes directly from the smart touchscreen on the case, while the 1Mii Y8+ relies primarily on physical buttons and an app for similar controls.
The 1Mii Y8+ features a hybrid ANC system specifically engineered to neutralize low-frequency noise like airplane engines, offering a deeper level of silence compared to the standard ANC in the Bucephalus model.
