If you want a dedicated, high-fidelity transmitter with dual-link sharing and a built-in display for your library setup, choose 1Mii B3+; if you need true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation that double as a complete TV listening solution, choose Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds.
• 1Mii B3+: Its biggest strength is the robust aptX Adaptive low-latency audio transmission and the ability to connect two headphones simultaneously for shared listening without disturbing others; its trade-off is that it is a standalone transmitter box rather than the actual earbuds themselves.
• Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds: Its biggest strength is the versatility of being an all-in-one package with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Auracast support for both private TV viewing and public audio sharing; its trade-off is that it requires a specific optical or AUX output on your TV and does not include a soundbar passthrough feature.
• Who each pick is for: The 1Mii B3+ is for audiophiles and couples who already own quality headphones and want a premium bridge to their entertainment system, while the Avantree set is for individuals seeking a single purchase that solves both personal music listening and private TV watching needs.
The 1Mii B3+ is designed for people who treat their home theater experience as a priority and want to maintain high audio fidelity without sacrificing privacy. This device is not just a simple adapter; it is a dedicated transmitter that brings advanced audio standards like aptX HD and aptX Adaptive to older TVs or PCs. If you are setting up a quiet corner in your library where you might be reading or studying while enjoying background media, this unit allows you to pair two Bluetooth headphones at once. You can enjoy the rich detail of high-quality audio while your partner listens to the same content on a different pair, or you can share a movie with a friend late at night without waking anyone else.
The inclusion of a clear LCD display sets this product apart from many other transmitters in the market. Instead of guessing which mode is active or whether your connection is stable, you get real-time feedback on your connection status, audio mode, and device settings right on the front of the unit. This transparency is crucial for users who want precise control over their environment. The physical design features a sleek black enclosure made from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and metal, giving it a sturdy feel that fits well on a desk or shelf. With dimensions around 9.5 inches by 9.5 inches, it is compact enough to sit unobtrusively near your TV or computer but large enough to house the necessary electronics for dual-link technology.
However, this product is not for everyone. It is strictly a transmitter, meaning you must already own a pair of Bluetooth headphones to use it. If you do not have any compatible headphones yet, this will not solve your problem alone. Furthermore, while it supports soundbar passthrough, it does not function as earbuds itself. If your goal is to wear something comfortable on your ears while watching TV, you will need to buy headphones separately. It is also worth noting that this unit relies on wired power via USB-C, so it is not battery-operated, which means you need a nearby power outlet to keep it running continuously during long library sessions or movie marathons.

The Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds are engineered for the person who wants maximum flexibility with a single device. These earbuds serve a dual purpose: they are excellent for everyday music and calls with active noise cancellation, and they come paired with a dedicated transmitter specifically for low-latency TV listening. This makes them an ideal choice for someone who spends a lot of time in a library or home office and wants to switch seamlessly between focused work, private TV viewing, and answering phone calls without swapping gear. The Active Noise Cancellation feature is particularly valuable in these environments, helping to block out distracting background noises so you can immerse yourself in your content.
One of the standout capabilities of this system is the Auracast support. This technology allows the earbuds to connect to compatible hearing aids and other devices in public spaces, expanding their utility beyond just your living room. When you are at home, the included Audikast 4 transmitter ensures that the audio stays perfectly synced with the video on your screen, eliminating the lip-sync issues that often plague wireless TV setups. The system also intelligently handles interruptions; if a phone call comes in while you are watching TV, the earbuds automatically prioritize the call and then reconnect to the TV audio immediately after you hang up. This seamless switching is a game-changer for anyone who needs to stay connected while consuming media.
Despite its versatility, there are specific limitations you should consider before buying. The system requires your TV to have either an Optical (TOSLINK) or a 3.5mm AUX output. If your television only has HDMI outputs and no dedicated audio out port, this system will not work with it unless you use an external converter. Additionally, for Optical connections, you must ensure your TV audio format is set to PCM or Stereo, which might require some menu navigation. While the earbuds offer six different EQ modes ranging from Pop to Classical to tailor the sound to your preference, they do not support soundbar passthrough in the same way a dedicated transmitter might. If you rely heavily on a complex soundbar setup, you may find the connectivity requirements slightly more rigid compared to a pure transmitter solution.
• Best for shared listening experiences → 1Mii B3+: Only the 1Mii B3+ offers native dual-link technology that allows two separate Bluetooth headphones to connect simultaneously, making it perfect for couples or families wanting to watch together quietly.
• Best for all-in-one convenience → Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds: If you need headphones, a microphone, noise cancellation, and a TV transmitter in one purchase, the Avantree set provides a complete ecosystem without needing extra accessories.
• Best for high-resolution audio fidelity → 1Mii B3+: The support for aptX HD and aptX Adaptive ensures richer detail and improved clarity, catering to listeners who demand the highest possible wireless audio quality.
• Best for blocking out distractions → Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds: The built-in Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) actively reduces background noise, offering a level of isolation that a passive transmitter cannot provide.
• Best for visual feedback and control → 1Mii B3+: The integrated LCD display gives you immediate visibility into connection status and audio modes, removing the guesswork from setup and usage.
• Best for public audio sharing → Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds: With Auracast support, these earbuds can join broadcasts in public venues, a feature not present in the 1Mii transmitter.
• Best for users with existing headphones → 1Mii B3+: If you already own a pair of good Bluetooth headphones, this transmitter upgrades them for TV use without forcing you to replace your current gear.
• Best for users without headphones → Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds: Since the earbuds are included in the box, this is the logical choice if you currently own no wireless headphones at all.
In my opinion, I would choose the Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds for most people looking for a library-friendly solution. While the 1Mii B3+ is a fantastic piece of hardware for audiophiles with existing headphones, the Avantree set offers far more value as a complete package. The combination of Active Noise Cancellation, seamless call handling, and the included low-latency transmitter makes it a superior choice for someone who needs to focus in a quiet space without the hassle of managing multiple devices. It solves the problem of "headphones for library" and "TV listening" in one go, whereas the 1Mii requires you to source and pair your own audio gear first.
For those who specifically need to share audio with a second person using two separate headphones, the 1Mii remains the only viable option, but for the vast majority of individual users seeking comfort, silence, and convenience, the Avantree earbuds are the smarter investment. They are designed to adapt to your day, moving from deep focus work to immersive TV watching without missing a beat. If you are torn between the two, ask yourself if you already have headphones you love; if not, the Avantree set is the path forward for a truly wireless, distraction-free experience.
Yes, the Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds feature built-in microphones for clear calls and can handle incoming phone calls directly while you are listening to TV audio, making them highly suitable for library environments where you might need to answer important calls discreetly.
The 1Mii B3+ is the better choice if you already own a specific Hi-Res certified headphone and want to transmit that audio wirelessly with minimal latency using aptX HD. The Avantree earbuds have their own drivers and EQ modes but are a self-contained system rather than a transmitter for external hi-res headsets.
The 1Mii B3+ explicitly supports soundbar passthrough, allowing the soundbar to continue playing audio while you listen privately on your headphones. The Avantree Multi-Use ANC Earbuds do not list soundbar passthrough as a supported feature and require direct optical or AUX connections to the TV.
Neither product works directly with HDMI-only TVs. The Avantree earbuds require an Optical or 3.5mm AUX output, and the 1Mii B3+ also requires these inputs. You would need an external HDMI-to-Optical/AUX converter for either product to function with a modern HDMI-only television.
