Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Joshua Yoon, and I am a filmmaker based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am currently pursuing a degree in Film Production at University of Pittsburgh.
When it comes to filmmaking, I am deeply passionate about storytelling and narrative. To me, these are the most important elements of filmmaking and the foundation of my creative philosophy. Without a good story, there is no good film.
I enjoy collaborating on film projects and am open to taking on any role that needs to be filled. My primary goals as a filmmaker are to become a cinematographer and editor, while continuing to grow my skills across all aspects of production.
Among the films I enjoy, my favorites are the six Star Wars films created by George Lucas. Yes, including the prequels. To me, George Lucas is a filmmaker who was able to defy expectations by telling the stories he wanted to tell while also transforming cinema through innovations such as digital filmmaking and CGI technology. Even today, he remains someone I admire for his dedication to storytelling, creativity, and artistic vision.
I have been fortunate to be a member of SCENE CLUB, where I have worked alongside its president, Colin Fink, a fellow Pittsburgh filmmaker. I have also participated in the 48 Hour Film Project and interned with Goat Milk Fudge Productions, assisting with event preparation and camera operations. These experiences have allowed me to develop my technical skills, collaborate with other filmmakers, and gain valuable hands-on production experience.
