Privacy Policy
Ghost VPN
Effective date: July 17, 2026
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ghost VPN ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") processes information when you use the App. Ghost VPN is an Android VPN/proxy application provided by the developer identified on its Google Play listing. The App does not require an account.
1. Information We Collect and Process
Depending on the features you use, the App and its service providers may process:
VPN and network information: source IP address, selected server, connection state, time and duration, aggregate upload/download totals, speed, DNS and routing metadata, and operational errors needed to establish, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the connection.
IP location information: your public IP address and approximate country, region, city, and coordinates returned by IPinfo when you use the IP Location feature.
App, device, and diagnostic information: app instance identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, language, region, network state, app interactions, session data, IP address, and diagnostic information processed through Firebase and related Google services.
Advertising and attribution information: advertising or device identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, Google Play install-referrer data, and campaign parameters processed by Google Mobile Ads/AdMob, Google Play Install Referrer, and Meta components when enabled.
Information stored locally: selected routes, connection-time allowance, aggregate traffic totals, quota state, attribution category, and App preferences. If per-app routing is enabled, installed app package names and UIDs may be read on the device to apply routing rules.
Information you provide: feedback text, email address, and other information you choose to include when contacting support.
2. How We Use Information
Provide, maintain, and secure the VPN/proxy connection you request.
Display connection status, traffic totals, public IP information, and service limits.
Fetch server lists and operational configuration.
Analyze reliability and feature usage, diagnose errors, and prevent fraud or abuse.
Provide and measure advertising where enabled and legally permitted.
Attribute installations, respond to support requests, and comply with applicable law.
The App uses Android's VPNService API only after you approve the Android system VPN prompt. Traffic must pass through the selected VPN/proxy gateway to provide the connection. We do not use VPN traffic content to build advertising profiles or sell browsing content. A VPN/proxy does not by itself make every protocol end-to-end encrypted; HTTPS and other end-to-end protections remain important.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may disclose information only as needed to:
VPN gateway and hosting providers that route and operate connections.
Google for Firebase, AdMob, Android services, Play Install Referrer, and app distribution.
IPinfo for public IP and approximate-location results.
Meta Platforms when Meta attribution components are configured and enabled.
Email or support providers when you contact us.
Authorities or other parties when required by law, necessary to protect users or the Service, or involved in a transfer of the Service.
We do not sell VPN traffic or browsing content for money. Advertising-related identifiers and activity may be considered "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some privacy laws.
4. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no network or storage system is completely secure. Local preferences and aggregate traffic totals remain until reset, App data is cleared, or the App is uninstalled, subject to Android backup and restore settings. Gateway operational metadata is retained only for the shortest period reasonably necessary for operation, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and legal compliance, then deleted or anonymized. Third-party providers retain information under their own policies and configured controls.
5. Third-Party Services
The App may use services governed by their own privacy policies:
Google Privacy Policy
Firebase Privacy and Security
Google Advertising Technologies
Meta Privacy Policy
IPinfo Privacy Policy
6. Children's Privacy
Ghost VPN is not directed to children under 13 or the higher minimum age required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without legally required consent. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may decline VPN or notification permissions, clear App data, uninstall the App, and manage your Android advertising privacy settings. Depending on your location, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal of a privacy decision. Because the App has no user accounts, we may be unable to associate a third-party pseudonymous identifier with you without additional information. Reasonable verification may be required.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, service providers, or legal requirements change. We will revise the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice where required.
9. Contact Us
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact us using the developer contact email shown on the Ghost VPN Google Play listing. The responsible developer or legal entity is the developer identified on that listing.
