Boardgame Day to start the week, Pink Shirt Day, learning about Fiction vs. Nonfiction, the 100th Day of School - never a dull moment!

What a Week - Valentine's Day, presentation from STEAM PEI, yoga, a visit from weatherman Jay Scotland, Winter Wellness activities, Sledding and bringing home a Silver Medal for our bulletin board boardgame!  

1C finished up our "Go for the Olymp1C Gold Game" combining art, addition and shared "How to" (procedural) writing! The children also did an amazing job writing independent journals this week!

A trip to the Stratford Library, Olympic Opening Ceremonies, passing the torch, creating our own board game, working on addition, going sledding, celebrating a birthday - so much fun, learning going on in 1C!

"How to" Writing, Addition, Yoga, PJ Day, Grade 1 Book Buddies and TWO birthdays!  It was another amazing week in 1C!

1C had the pleasure of hosting a Baby Shower for Mrs. Conohan this week - we created signs, wrote a poem, had some special snacks, practiced writing words and sentences that are baby-themed and we started learning about addition by adding baby items together. The children were so sweet and excited and did a great job celebrating someone else through their learning!

Another busy week in 1C - Art, Library, Yoga, using new Math tools and we even had a special virtual presentation with the Canadian Museum of Nature! 

1C had a great week getting back to school - we cleaned out our desks for a fresh start, made skip-counting snowmen, started our yoga program, worked hard on vision boards, got back into reading, writing, math routines and started a new science task of tracking the weather daily!

Read-a-thon, Arts & Crafts, Show & Tell, Carol Sing, Movie Day, Reindeer Games, Bingo - SO much fun was had heading into our break!

Concert prep and practice, art, movement breaks and getting some things ready for holiday games this coming week! 

Despite a snowy, interrupted week we still managed to do lots of learning. 
Special thank you to the Student Well-Being Team who came to visit again to do a presentation on Emotions and to our Glen Stewart Music Teachers who are doing an amazing job getting the kids ready for our Winter Concert!
