The task of refurbishing a nearly 50 year old fire engine is a large one. The wooden slats in the hose bed are beginning to rot and will need to be replaced. Years of exposure, both to road salt and sitting outside uncovered have left many areas of the truck rusted. However, these areas are mostly confined to the lower body, primarily in the storage compartments. Other areas are largely intact, especially the cabs front end. Here the hood and the front fenders are fiberglass. Looking at the photos below show many missing parts. However, most if not all of those are accounted for and have been stored inside. And as the videos posted below show, the engine is running and the transmission and brakes are working.
This process will take some time, effort, patience and money but the result will be a unique testament to the dedicated volunteers of Adams.

is to get her inside so the crew can begin to tackle the rust, especially in the rear compartment areas which was likely caused by the lack of wheel well liner.
