In Benua Lima, Java, people expressed resistance by not paying taxes and attacking palace guards. Fortresses were also built around homes. In Muning, Java, people were more violent. They too stopped paying taxes. However, in places like Martapura, whoever opposed the Dutch were lashed.

The situation grows more tense, with small clashes escalating into widespread violence. Your family urges you to leave the country after a particularly heated clash. Your mind agrees with them yet your heart tells you to stay and fight.
