Format is a 2 person Yo-Yo Duel elimination bracket - Winners from each duel make it to the next round.
Prizes - If duelers agree to abide by the traditional the New Mexico High Desert Code - The Loser in each bracket must send the Winner the throw used in their losing competition (it is recommended to use an old throw). Loser must post a photo of their yo-yo lost in competition being mailed out to the winner (the stakes are real). Winners of each bracket move forward to the next round. In the end there can only be one (pretty sure this is a copyrighted phrase from the Highlander series)The final winner is the 2020 Yo-Down Show Down Winner.
More Prizes - Each contestant will receive a MagicYoYo prize in addition to their competitor's throw (granted duelers agree to the New Mexico High Desert Code)
How to enter post a :30 freestyle on YouTube and submit the link to lukerennerstringslinger@live.com on July 15th by 6pm (Mountain Standard Time) - (Judges will select the competitors for the contest based on the submissions). This :30 video freestyle will be used for tier 1 of the contest. Past 1st, 2nd, 3rd YDSD winners are seeded however you will need to submit a :30 video.
Competition Freestyles :
Tier 1 - :30 video used to enter deadline for submission July 15th 6pm (Mountain Standard Time)
Tier 2 - These are the winners from Tier 1 and will upload a :60 Freestyle deadline for submission July 22nd 6pm (Mountain Standard Time)
Tier 3 - These are the final winners from Tier 2 and are the last two players in the contest they will upload a :60 freestyle which determines 1st and 2nd Place
deadline for submission July 25th 6pm (Mountain Standard Time)
Freestyles 30 - 60 seconds of your Best - (no music - judges will not listen to music - we are judging on skill, presentation and personality). Freestyles must be filmed in one take (continuous shot) and the camera must be fixed in place (use a tripod) - no panning or tilting the camera during the filming.
If you move forward to the next bracket you are allowed to create another :60 freestyle or keep the same video from the previous bracket.
Submitting Freestyles use Google Drive and save videos in a .mp4 format h.264 compression settings. Videos will be posted on the Yo Down Show Down site and selected participants will need to sign a photo release. Parent signature required if under 18 years of age. Freestyles and final reel of the contest may appear on the Luke Renner Yo-Yo Slinger YouTube Channel (over 150,000 channel views) and a teaser on the Luke Renner Yo-Yo Instagram and Twitter accounts (highlights from the freestyles will be edited).
In addition to the Judge's Scoring 1 point will be added to the score of the competitor with the most likes received on their posted YouTube video
All Judges decisions are final - and remember this is a friendly competition
