Transportation Guide

The 2026 A3 Symposium will be held in Daejeon, Republic of Korea. The main hotel for participants is LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon, located near Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) and EXPO Science Park. Three other hotels nearby are also recommended.

Hotel ICC Daejeon is right next to LOTTE City Hotel, so the same routes and taxi times apply. Hotel Onoma Daejeon is in the EXPO Science Park area, a short distance from LOTTE City Hotel. Hotel Interciti Daejeon is in the Yuseong area, close to Yuseong Intercity Bus Terminal.

1. From Incheon International Airport to Daejeon by Train

Participants arriving at Incheon International Airport may travel to Daejeon by train via Seoul Station.

Route:

Incheon International Airport → Seoul Station by AREX Airport Railroad
Seoul Station → Daejeon Station by KTX

After arriving at Seoul Station by AREX, transfer to a KTX train bound for Daejeon Station.

This route is recommended for participants who prefer a faster and more frequent train connection. The total travel time is approximately 2.5–3 hours, depending on transfer time.

From Daejeon Station, participants can take a taxi to LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon.

Approximate taxi time:

Daejeon Station → LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon: approximately 20–30 minutes

2. From Incheon International Airport to Daejeon by Airport Limousine Bus

Participants may also take an airport limousine bus from Incheon International Airport to Daejeon.

Route:

Incheon International Airport → Daejeon Government Complex / Daejeon Terminal Complex

Bus tickets can be purchased at the airport bus ticket counter or ticket machines. When purchasing a ticket, please check the destination carefully. We recommend selecting a bus bound for one of the following destinations:

Daejeon Government Complex
Daejeon Terminal Complex

For participants staying at LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon, Daejeon Government Complex is usually more convenient because it is closer to the hotel and Daejeon Convention Center area.

Boarding location at Incheon International Airport:

Please follow the signs for “Bus” or “Airport Bus” at the arrival terminal. The exact boarding platform may differ depending on the terminal and bus company, so participants should confirm the platform number at the airport bus ticket counter or ticket machine.

From the bus stop or terminal in Daejeon, participants can take a taxi to LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon.

Approximate taxi time:

Daejeon Government Complex → LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon: approximately 10–15 minutes
Daejeon Terminal Complex → LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon: approximately 25–35 minutes

This route is recommended for participants with heavy luggage, as it requires fewer transfers. The total travel time is approximately 3–3.5 hours, depending on traffic.

3. From Cheongju International Airport to Daejeon

Participants arriving at Cheongju International Airport may travel to Daejeon by intercity bus, train, or taxi.

Option 1: By Intercity / Airport Bus — Recommended

Intercity buses are available from Cheongju International Airport to Daejeon. There is usually no city bus number for this route; participants should check the destination displayed on the bus or ticket.

Recommended destinations:

Cheongju International Airport → Daejeon Terminal Complex
Cheongju International Airport → Yuseong Intercity Bus Terminal, if available

For participants staying at LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon, Yuseong Intercity Bus Terminal is usually more convenient because it is closer to the hotel and Daejeon Convention Center area. However, depending on the schedule, buses to Daejeon Terminal Complex may be more readily available.

Boarding location at Cheongju International Airport:

Intercity Bus Stop / Airport Bus Stop outside the passenger terminal

Ticket purchase:

Tickets can be purchased at the airport bus ticket machine or ticket counter. Participants may also check schedules and reserve tickets using intercity bus reservation services such as Tmoney GO or TxBus.

When searching for tickets, please check one of the following destination names:

Yuseong / Yuseong Intercity Bus Terminal

From the bus terminal or bus stop in Daejeon, participants can take a taxi to LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon.

Approximate taxi time:

Yuseong Intercity Bus Terminal → LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon: approximately 10–15 minutes
Daejeon Terminal Complex → LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon: approximately 25–35 minutes

This route is recommended when a suitable bus schedule is available. Please check the latest timetable in advance, as the number of buses may be limited.

Option 2: By Train

Participants may also take a train from Cheongju Airport Station to Daejeon Station. Cheongju Airport Station is located near Cheongju International Airport, but train schedules may be limited.

Route:

Cheongju International Airport → Cheongju Airport Station → Daejeon Station

From Daejeon Station, participants can take a taxi to LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon.

Approximate taxi time:

Daejeon Station → LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon: approximately 20–30 minutes

This route is recommended for participants who prefer train travel, but we strongly recommend checking the train schedule in advance.

Option 3: By Taxi

Participants may also take a taxi directly from Cheongju International Airport to LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon.

Route:

Cheongju International Airport → LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon

The taxi ride usually takes approximately 50–70 minutes, depending on traffic.

This is the most convenient option for participants traveling in a small group or carrying heavy luggage.

4. From Daejeon Station or Bus Terminals to Hotels

After arriving in Daejeon, the easiest way to reach hotels is by taxi.

5. From LOTTE City Hotel Daejeon to KAIST (Venue)

By taxi (recommended): approximately 10 minutes, around 5,000-8,000 KRW. Taxis can be hailed at the hotel entrance or called with the Kakao T app. Taxis are allowed to drive into the KAIST campus.

Drop-off point at KAIST: Academic Cultural Complex (E9). The venue, Jeong Geun-mo Conference Hall, is on the 5th floor. Please ask the driver to drop you off directly in front of the Academic Cultural Complex (E9), not at the main gate.
