About the Digital Symposium
"Technology is best when it brings people together." - Matt Mullenweg
Held annually in the spring semester, the Digital Symposium is an event meant to showcase digital projects across the realms of scholarship, coursework, and pedagogy. The selected works illustrate the possibilities of researching, teaching, and composing with digital media and digital technologies. This year, the event will be held virtually to accommodate and encourage viewers to browse at their own leisure. Everyone is welcomed to peruse and share the site as they wish while also taking the time to enjoy the care that is reflected in each composer’s piece displayed here.
For the 14th anniversary of the Digital Symposium, we celebrate the evolution of technology and its ability to connect with others in a virtual space. With how far technology has come, the digital network has framed new ways of collaborating with others. Technology has allowed us to evolve creatively and access new possibilities of design to create any digital work and reach and celebrate each other. This year, we commemorate the digital work that the Symposium showcases as it exemplifies hard work and its fueled exigencies. We hope that this serves as a source of inspiration to partake in the connectivity technology has built for our community.
Our gratitude is immense to those whose work is showcased in the Symposium, as well as instructors including, Brittany Barron, Dr. Anne Coldiron, Kate Kimball, Bridgette Sanders, Daniel Stefanelli, and Emily Tomczak, who nominated work for the Symposium this year.
Additionally, we thank the 14th Annual Digital Symposium Team, Kelly Chamorro, Laura Giron, Anwen Jones, Casie Minot, Daniel Stefanelli, and Emily Tomczak for their efforts in gathering projects and designing the Symposium website to showcase amazing student work.
