Scouting has been a huge part of my life for 40 years, and I believe in the fundamentals of developing young people and building resilience as well as providing experiences they will remember, all sprinkled with expanding imagination and creativity. 

I have a love of the outdoors and have several qualifications in outdoor activities.

In addition, I’m first aid trained, trained in effective risk assessments and have several childcare qualifications including designated safeguard lead.

With over 6 years of experience as a dedicated assistant scout leader, I've honed skills in fostering teamwork and leadership. 

My passion lies in retro computing, where I blend nostalgia with innovation by revitalizing old computers with modern hardware. Beyond technology, I thrive in leading outdoor activities, embracing adventure, and nurturing a love for nature with my scouts.

I have been around the 12th since 2018 as occasional helper and member of the parents support group. I Joined the Mohawk team as assistant leader in 2021. 

I have been camping regularly since childhood, from wild camping to glamping and everything in between and love spending time outdoors. 

I don’t shy away from a challenge, taking on light the lakes, The six dales challenge and even wild warrior in recent years.

I've only been involved in scouting for the last year, however, I have many years of experience working with children both inside and outside of school. 

I've worked as a teacher for nearly a decade, including organising Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and numerous school trips/residentials. I am also just starting up forest school as well.

I love spending time outside,  camping, woodworking and developing bushcraft skills.

I've only been involved with scouting the past three years, however  having 16 years of military service has come in very handy. 

Scouting and the military foster the same fundamentals, a love of the outdoors, developing young leaders, gaining skills and experiences through all different avenues lies at the heart of everything I do and achieve myself whilst giving back to the community. 

Skillset: 

• Mental health first aid

• First aid trained (Team medic in the military)

• Vehicle mechanic 

• Level 2 NVQ coaching and mentoring. 

Grew up through scouting and returned in 2023 as an assistant scout leader. 

Experience of mountain hiking with scouts and venture scouts including overnight hikes in the Austrian Alps.

• Can set fire to anything, including water.
