Designer Commentary 

"I wanted to try and do a male character this time around as in my previous experiences, I was the one tasked to always the female cast and Havier was such a perfect character. Anna, our comic head, actually provided such a nice description as to who Havier Calvo is that designing him was just a joy all around. Based on the surviving photographs of what upper class men wore, how could I ever pass up the opportunity to make him one of the more eccentric personalities among Karayom ng Kalayaan's line-up. 

At the start I definitely had to think of a character with the same energy as to what Anna had in mind and this is where I had put the dots together. A fashionista who's also more of an antagonist? My mind had probably 2 answers back then but the one I chose as my main inspiration was Ms. Cruella from Disney's 101 Dalmatians. She had the right amount of sass and drama I could sprinkle into Havier it was lovely. I also think some of the minor unhinged energy might've snuck its way into his character though.

Overall, Havier is someone I imagine to exude such an eccentric flair and be very flamboyant but maintain that he is someone Mia would have to oppose so picking more darker colors with cooler tones would also show visually that he is someone opposite to the more warm palate of the ' good guys '. I'm quite pleased with how he ended up being and I hope people would enjoy the Havier as much as I enjoyed designing him."
