In a quiet town in Laguna, Philippines, there lived a family, the Frings. They lived peacefully, running a small but successful tailoring business, with Mr. Guillermo Fring being the main seamstress while Mrs. Lastrina Fring supported him. Their daugther, Mia Fring, always dreamt of being just like her father one day.
On a cold, chilly night, they heard soldiers marching outside their house as they were about to sleep. In a panic, Mr. and Mrs. Fring took Mia outside their backdoor and gave her a backpack and a mysterious cat pin, which her mother attached to her panuelo. Mia's parents told her to run far away from their home, and she obliged. Despite the panic, Mia took note of the man who led the army that attacked her family, a man with mutton chops. Mr. and Mrs. Fring disappeared the same night, with the soldiers setting Mia's home aflame.
Mia now becomes driven to find the man who took her parents with the help of her new-found magical powers, thanks to her magical furry friend, which appeared out of the cat pin her mother gave her. With her trusty karayom and sinulid, will she find the man who took her parents from her and find them, if they're even alive?
