Knocking on the door is Sergeant Voules, accompanied by his nephew, Constable Dobson. They have noticed the broken window and have come to investigate. After they have left Bertie decides to go sleep in his car but is confronted once more with the two policemen in his garage. He sends them off again and has just fallen asleep when someone is joggling his arm, this someone turning out to be Chuffy.
