After a cold an uncomfortable night in the windy summer house Bertie awakes to a beautiful morning. Yearning for breakfast he looks in at the house and sees the breakfast table being laid out for Chuffy. He sneaks in and is confronted with Jeeves, who tells him that Lady Chuffnell still has warm feelings for Sir Roderick Glossop and would like him to return to Chuffnell Hall. Bertie informs Jeeves that he and Sir Roderick have met and are on speaking terms now, having been through the same blackface ordeal, and prepares to start on Chuffy's breakfast, against Jeeves' advice. Then the door handle turns, Bertie dives behind a desk, and mr. Stoker arrives.
