Pauline announces that she will swim back to the yacht, dons her swimsuit and leaves. Bertie settles down with a whisky and soda and sees a note from Pauline saying that she will use a rowing boat to get back to the yacht and that she has taken his overcoat which she will throw overboard after boarding. Then there is another knock on the door. Mr. Stoker barges in, looking for his daughter Pauline and, after searching the cottage in vain, apologizes to Bertie, who informs him that his kissing Pauline was nothing more than brother and sister stuff. Mr. Stoker leaves, and Bertie finally gets his well-earned sleep.
