Tuppy tells Bertie that Angela has accused him of getting a double chin from eating too much, and that his remarks about her experience at Cannes were his way of getting even with her. Having asserted that Tuppy still loves Angela, Bertie advises him to push his plate away at tonight's Anatole dinner to show that he wants to slim down, repairing his hunger feeling afterwards by sneaking down and raiding the larder. Tuppy agrees with the plan he thinks must have thought out by Jeeves, which does not amuse Bertie.
