Joy In The Morning
8 - Constable Stilton
Stilton turns out to be on actual policeman's duty, and wants to know why Bertie is at Bumpleigh. Bertie tells him that he rented a cottage there because Jeeves wanted to get in some fishing, and also because he wanted to help Boko and Nobby to get on good terms with his uncle, Lord Percy. Stilton does not believe him and accuses him of pursuing Florence Craye, whom he found out Bertie has been engaged to. When he leaves Florence comes bicycling down, telling him she has put flowers in his cottage. Talking about Stilton she says she is disappointed in him for wanting to be a policeman when he should pursue a political career, gladly to be financed by his uncle.
