Startled on getting caught Magnolia flees the scene, leaving the explanation to Ginger, who tells Bertie that he has found true love with Magnolia and that he wants to break off his engagement with Florence but cannot do that because breaking off engagements is the prerogative of the female side of the pair-to-be. He therefore plans to force Florence to break it off using the Junior Ganymede club book offered to him by Bingley so that the damning information about himself in it would become public, resulting in his losing the election after which Florence as a natural consequence would seperate herself from him. Thus agreed Bingley went on his way to fetch the book and Ginger is now waiting for his return. Bertie however has to disappoint him and tells him that Jeeves has taken posession of the book and under no circumstance would let it out of his hands. On leaving Ginger Bertie heard him say "We'll see about that!"
