Sir Roderick and Bertie are joined by Bobbie Wickham in Uncle Tom's collection room where the cow creamer is missing from, and they conclude that Wilbert Cream must be the culprit. Bobbie urges Bertie to go and search Wilbert's room for the creamer to which he obliges. In doing so he encounters a housemaid who says she is looking for a mouse with the help of Augustus, a big black lethargic domestic cat. She leaves the room to let Bertie carry on.
