Upset by the Sir Roderick Glossop showing up as butler Bertie spills his tea over Aubrey Upjohn. Bobbie explains that Upjohn wants Phyllis to marry Wilbert Cream but that Aunt Dahlia, suspicious of Wilbert because of his reputation as a playboy, has asked Sir Roderick to observe him inconspiciously. Hence the butler masquerade. Moreover Aunt Dahlia wants Bertie to keep a close watch over Wilbert Cream to prevent him from proposing to Phyllis.
