After scouring the countryside for Swordfish to no avail Bertie returns to Brinkley Court to find a cheerful Bobbie there who tells him that everying is sorted out. Jeeves and Swordfish/Glossop have explained that the cow creamer was originally pinched by Bertie, whose behaviour was under scrutiny by Glossop because of his neurotic unstable condition including kleptomania. The cure proposed by Sir Roderick requires that everybody deals with Bertie with the utmost kindness. When Bertie starts protesting this labeling thrust upon him Jeeves assures him that the situation is limited to the present company involved and serves him another cocktail.
