Until every heart, soul, mind, and strength is reached
The idea of 12:30 Ministry started with a college course I took in 2013. My college professor shared an article by Dr. Erik Carter about supporting individuals with disabilities at church. Dr. Carter's article sparked something within me that, at the time, I really could not describe. Fast forward ten years, and I am just as passionate about supporting churches and ministries with inclusive practices for individuals with disabilities. 12:30 Ministry will guide, support, and resource churches to walk through the process of inclusion and forever change the ways of doing church that exclude people. 12:30 Ministry is launching through social media and now using Google Classroom as my webpage. From a Sunday sermon to a Sunday School classroom, my support will help all learners through planning for all learners. My goal is to support churches and ministries in creating places of learning accessible to all through educational principles such as Universal Design for Learning, differentiation, specially designed instruction, and explicit instruction. I am excited to partner with local and national churches! God has been nudging me for the past decade to begin this. My past decade of experience in education and educational leadership has prepared me to serve.
"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Mark 12:30
Consultation
What this would start with:
1. A quick connect call to speak to the church's goals around inclusive and belonging practices.
2. Observation at the church. This typically would take place on Sunday, but I am open most evenings as well.
3. By mid-week after the Sunday service, I would have a reflection document that I would make an appointment to meet with the Pastor and their leadership team on.
4. Coaching sessions would begin after this (i.e. 1:1 meetings with the pastor/leaders; Sunday school teacher training and coaching on Sunday mornings or weekday evenings)
5. Gradual release - once the church is comfortable, the coaching slowly releases responsibility back to the church
Training
This would begin with pastor/leadership training on how educational practices can support churches
2. These trainings would be centered around differentiation, Universal Design for Learning, and Specially Designed Instruction to support every mind in their church.
3. Individual coaching could be offered for churches interested in taking their practices to the next level
Biblical Educational Tools and Programs
Supporting churches with differentiating materials, sermons, and other programs at the church to ensure that every mind is reached.
