Feel free to take your time - google things that you're not sure of, and complete both the text and video-based activities if you want to. You can even find your own videos or text-based instructions if you'd like to! Continue working on this section until you are comfortable with your knowledge. Don't forget that your peers (other learners in the class) have plenty of knowledge too, so don't be afraid to work together!
If you want some more practice before you move on to the test, try out this exercise!
The following quiz will test your knowledge of HTML so far - it won't be graded and will not contribute to any of your actual grades. Please make sure that you use your real name so that I can help support you to achieve at your best!
The quiz will include questions about the following things:
Managing and Formatting (how it is laid out) an HTML File
Functions (things that it does) and Syntax (the way that we write) of HTML Elements (tags)
HTML Colours
Basic CSS that you will have Encountered during the Basic HTML Section
Don't forget to use your real name! Sign in with the following game code:
627272
If that code does not work, please let me know so that I can fix it for you!
If you find that the above tutorials are not challenging enough, feel free to follow this video lesson to learn some more advanced CSS techniques! Don't forget to be available to support your peers if you would like to - teaching others can help to improve your own understanding as well as helping your friends!
Your task is to take the HTML code linked below and add your own style to it. The webpage is based around Māori Language Week (10 - 16 September 2018), and your style changes should reflect this theme.
Please attempt to change the following:
Change the background colour
Change the text colour
Change the font and size of the text
Make the image smaller
Add a border to the image
Anything else you'd like to try
Once you are done, share your work with a friend. Have a look at your work together and then fill out this form to see where you are at with your CSS. Feel free to practice some more and fill out the form again later if you feel that you need more practice!
For the next section, you will be expected to learn to use at least three different intermediate HTML elements. In this list, you will find your name listed with three colours.
You need to complete at least one module for each colour that you are given. For example: Miss P is asked to complete two green modules and one blue module. This means that Miss P needs to choose two elements from the green list, and one element from the blue list. Miss P can choose to complete extra modules if she would like to, but she MUST complete the two green and one blue that she was asked to complete.

If you do not have any ideas about what you would like to create a website about, choose a cultural celebration/event/tradition that you identify with (eg.
