"The Edge of the Room"

by Nick Lord Lancaster [@nlordlancaster]

The bed is in the way, really. It is right in the middle of the room and cuts the remaining space into portions too small to be of any use. She wishes there was space at the edge of the room, so she could sleep with her back to the wall. Now, when she sleeps, she feels like there is something going on behind her back, and she spends the whole night either turning around, hoping to catch a glimpse, or trying not to turn around, in case she sees something she doesn't want to.
