You can also take a public transport from the airport to reach IMSc. The suburban train station, Tirusulam, is located just across the main highway near the airport and can be accessed via an underpass.
You can take a train headed into the city ('towards Beach') to Guindy from where IMSc is a 5km auto rikshaw ride away.
Alternately, you can take the train to Chennai Beach station and switch to the MRTS line 'towards Velachey' upto Indiranagar. IMSc is a short walk way, across the main road.
