Marking Criterion for Assignment:
Source Selection (4 marks): Did the student choose a variety of reliable and relevant sources related to their chosen topic? Did the student include at least 3 sources, including at least one primary source? Did the student provide proper references for each source?
TOMACPRU Analysis (8 marks): Did the student effectively use the TOMACPRU scaffold to analyse each source? Did the student provide at least two paragraphs of detailed and sophisticated analysis for each source, linking it to the decade it is from? Did the student demonstrate a clear understanding of popular culture and history in their analysis?
Topic Significance (4 marks): Did the student clearly explain the significance of their chosen topic to Australian popular culture? Did the student discuss the contribution of an Indigenous person/s, as encouraged in the assignment prompt, if applicable to their chosen topic?
Writing Style and Organisation (2 marks): Did the student use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation? Did the student write in a clear and organised manner with coherent paragraphs and logical flow of ideas? Did the student use appropriate academic language and tone?
Overall Presentation (2 marks): Did the student format their assignment according to the given instructions, including proper referencing and citation? Did the student meet the word count requirement? Did the student present their assignment in a visually appealing and professional manner?
Total Marks: 20 marks (18 marks for content, analysis, and topic significance, and 2 marks for writing style and presentation)
