Hello Everyone!
We are starting a new reading program this year called Beanstack. All students, faculty, and staff on our campus will be reading toward a goal of 450,000 minutes by May 2026. Please encourage your student to read at home and record those minutes!

A Note From the Librarian:
Hello!
I am Lisa Martin and I am the Library Instructional Media Specialist for Vidor Jr. High. I have 25 years in education, with experience at elementary, middle school, jr. high, and high school, and I have also taught adult education through the Region 5 service center.
I received my Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Communications from Lamar University, and my Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from Sam Houston State University. I have also recently completed the Principal Certification Program at Lamar University.
This year, I will be married for 30 years to my husband, Kevin. He is employed by Advanced Radiation Physics as a Dosimetrist, and he is currently contracted to the Radiation Department at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. We have one son and a daughter-n-law, Adrin & Espyn, who just recently bought their first home. Espyn is an ELA teacher and loves reading almost as much as me. Adrin is a graduate student studying technical communications. I may be a little biased, but I think they are the smartest and most beautiful kids in the world.
As for me, I love writing and reading, and I love when I get my students excited about reading too.
