Mr. Spitz’s Math Class

Math 7 Grades

Ø Homework is 10% of your grade.

Ø Quizzes are 30% of your grade.

Ø Tests are 50% of your grade.

Ø Classwork is 10% of your grade.

1. Homework:

A. Completed (on time) homework scores 3.

B. Late homework will receive a maximum score of 2.

C. Homework without work shown is considered incomplete, scores a 0.

D. Absent homework will receive full credit upon completion.

E. Homework assignments are listed on the board, and on my website.

2. Quizzes:

A. Corrections can be done on all quizzes.

B. Half of the points missed will be added back to your score.

C. Corrections are to be done outside of class time.

3. Tests

A. The majority of your grade! Your score can’t be changed.

4. Classwork

A. Class Participation is a requirement.

B. You will be graded during class based on the rubric.

C. Know when it is appropriate to converse within your group.

Info to Know

1. Materials for each class

Pencil, Calculator, Notebooks, Homework Packet

2. Calculators:

A. If you forget your calculator, you may borrow one.

Calculators must be put back prior to everyone leaving class.

C. This privilege will be revoked if calculators become damaged or missing.

(You can do math without a calculator!)

4. Activity Period:

A. Tuesday through Thursday from 2:25 to 2:55.

B. Quiet working environment.

C. Perfect time to receive extra math help.

5. Be on time!

A. Every time you are tardy it is marked, three slips will result in a lunch detention.

B. Tardy, with a signed pass, is acceptable.

6. Starting Class

A. Three things you will do to start each class.

7. Ending Class

A. The teacher dismisses students, not the bell.

B. You will be given permission to pack up, do not pack up early.

C. Students must be sitting down.

D. All calculators must be returned to the calculator caddy.
