What is a Prevention Counselor?
As a Substance Use Prevention Counselor, Ms. Snyder focuses on prevention, education, and intervention related to substance use for all Victor students.
Ms. Snyder is available to provide the following to students, staff, and families in the Victor community:
Tips to promote prevention of substance use or delayed initiation of substance use
Tips on talking to youth about substances (when, how, and how often)
Substance use education including information on current local and national trends
School-based support for students
Community resource information
Referral assistance for community resources
Answer questions families may have about substance use, treatment, and recovery

Ms. Snyder is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor. She completed her undergraduate studies at SUNY Geneseo and then went on to earn her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from St. John Fisher.
Ms. Snyder has worked in mental health treatment and substance use prevention and treatment since 2009.
