VHEC Robotics TEAM

The Central Robotics team will be accepting applications in late November. Our team can consist of no more than 12 members. The team will be selected based on the applications submitted as well as an after school tryout. All portions of the application must be filled out and turned in on time. Failure to do so will result in the application not being reviewed. After applications are narrowed down, we will be holding tryouts. Members will be a mix of 4th and 5th graders.

Robotics is a school sponsored team that uses the Lego Mindstorm EV3 Robots to build and program. WE DO NOT BUILD LEGOS! This is important to understand. Meetings are held after school until 4:00pm once a week and occasionally before school at 7:30 am. Attendance is mandatory. We will notify you by letter if your child was selected to be on the team. Participation in the team last year does not guarantee a spot this year.

NO PRIOR Lego MINDSTORM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. But there are a few requirements:

Student must be self-motivated in work
Student is willing to work on tasks outside their comfort zone
Student class conduct must be of the highest quality
Students can work in a team focused environment

No late applications will be accepted.
