Dear HBW Families,

Welcome to the 2025 - 2026 school year at Henry B. Whitehorne Middle School. Our team of administrators, teachers, counselors, administrative assistants, paraprofessionals, and custodians have been working throughout the summer to prepare HBW for the many exciting opportunities we have planned for this school year. 

Our team is ready and prepared to welcome both new and returning students alike to our school. HBW teachers and staff are looking forward to an exciting school year.  Teachers are committed to creating engaging and thought-provoking lessons designed to help students attain their academic goals. Additionally, our staff recognizes the typical challenges that middle school students face and are, therefore, committed to promoting each student's social and emotional growth.  As such, teams consisting of core subject and special education teachers, a school counselor, and a house administrator will meet regularly throughout the school year to identify students who may be in need of support and to develop interventions as needed in support of our collective commitment to promoting each student's academic, social, and emotional growth.

We believe in teamwork and we are sincerely grateful for the partnership we have with HBW families. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher, school counselor, case manager, or house administrator whenever assistance is needed.  

Finally, please review all of the tabs contained within this Welcome Back communication. Each tab contains important information to review prior to the first day of school, including information regarding your child's 2025 - 2026 schedule.  

We are looking forward to the excitement students will experience entering the building as they return to school on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.  We hope you and your family enjoy the remaining days of summer.
