The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).
Members are appointed to the National Hispanic Honor Society upon completion of three semesters of High School Spanish. Students are selected based on their ability to communicate in Spanish. Each student is required to have a minimum average of A- for the duration of the three semesters in order to be admitted into the society. It is required for new inductees to continue their study of Spanish in the upper level courses: Spanish IV Honors and AP Spanish. Honor Society Members must also be willing to offer peer tutoring to students in the lower levels of language study.
