What are Chrome Extensions and Add-ons?
Have you ever been browsing the web and said to your self, "I wish I could do ____?" This is where Chrome Extensions and Add-ons come in. Extensions and Add-ons are like mini-programs that allow you to do more with your Chrome browser. They are created by third party companies that saw a need and decided to write a program to meet that need. Extensions are programs that are added to your browser and can be used on any website. Add-ons are programs that are created for a specific App - Like Google Docs or Forms. These programs are amazing tools for teachers to get the most out of their Chromebooks!

- *G-Suite Training* - don't know how to use Google Apps? install the G-Suite Training extension to access interactive training lessons using your own files!
- Grammarly - Spell check program that works on any site - it will even proofread emails!
- Screencastify: Screen casting tool that allows you to record everything on your screen and while you narrate.
- Equatio - write math equations and insert into Google Apps
- Seesaw - Extension allows students to use all of the functions from the Seesaw program on a Chromebook.
- Save to Google Drive: Allows you to save images or files on any website straight to your Google Drive
- Check Mark - gives you a toolbar with preloaded comments - can just highlight and click and it will add editing comments to any Google Doc!
- Bit.ly- shortens URL so you can share things with students without having to type in that really long URL
- EasyBib Toolbar - allows user to easily cite any webpage they are on
- SpeakIt- allows you to highlight text on a page and have the program read the text to you
- Google Dictionary - double click on any word on a webpage to see the definition
- KAMI - Read and annotate on PDF Documents!
- Highly Highlighter - highlight and save things from any website
- Awesome Screenshot - lets you make screenshots of any webpage - you choose what takes a screenshot of on the page as well
- Bitmoji - allows you to create emoji'a and drag them into Google Docs for more fun interactive feedback
- Read & Write - offers a variety of tools to help with reading, writing, studying, and research - works on any site!
- Note Anywhere - allows you to create digital sticky notes for webpages - notes will reappear every time you go to that page!
- One Tab - if you have too may tabs open, use One Tab to create a list - will make your Chrome browser go much faster!
- TooManytabs - takes tabs and makes them into a window with thumbnails so you can see what is open when you have too many tabs
- Drive 20 - allows you to open a Google Drive folder and it will automatically open the first 20 files - very helpful for grading assignments in Google Classroom!
- Send from Gmail - opens up an email in Gmail whenever you click on a link for an email address
- Add to Google Classroom - allows users to share any Google file or website on Google Classroom with the click of a button!
- Black Menu for Google - installs a button that gives you a menu of Google Apps on any website so you can start creating files fast!
