I'm Hilana, the Director and an Industrial Psychologist at Van Der Linde Career and Organisational Psychologists. I am on a mission to unlock the best in people within the professional world!
My journey kicked off with my B.Soc.Sc degree and honours (majoring in psychology) at the University of the Free State, followed by diving into the world of Industrial Psychology with an Master of Commerce degree at the University of Johannesburg. Right now, I'm knee-deep in my PhD at NWU, exploring the fascinating depths of personality and mental health within sport.
During my previous role, I had an amazing time collaborating with South African rugby players, focusing on ensuring that the Springboks, Blitzboks, URC, and Currie Cup teams excelled not only on the field, but also in their personal development. This experience was an exhilarating journey that taught me a great deal about the factors that fuel high performance and individual growth in intensely competitive environments.
Currently, my primary focus revolves around several key areas. I specialise in providing career guidance, aiding individuals in making informed choices about their career paths and subject choices. Additionally, I provide medico-legal reports, leveraging my expertise in Industrial Psychology to contribute valuable insights in legal contexts.
Moreover, I conduct psychometric assessments tailored for development and recruitment purposes, aiming to assist organisations in making well-informed hiring decisions. My coaching services encompass diverse areas, including career, sport, and executive coaching, where I leverage my expertise to guide individuals and teams towards their personal and professional aspirations.
