Why join AVID?
In each AVID elective class, students will develop and continue to build on a foundation of strategies for success, such as:
setting, analyzing, and refining goals
developing intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, including public speaking
completing self- and peer-evaluations
expanding the knowledge and use of note-taking and studying techniques
crafting time management and productivity skills

“I’ve always been told that AVID is a family. At first I thought it was only going to be about extra work and the ‘family’ was just to get us wanting the class. But, truthfully, AVID is a family because when you’re getting a bad grade, 2-6 other people are, too. A good grade? 2-6 other people are, too. We motivate one another and make the class an environment to be yourself and have support regardless of what goes on.”
