Image selection

For this project we had to select an image that has a glimpse of the human body. I had a varity of images from which professor Jesse and Ece chose this one.

We began experimenting with graphite pencil since it was our first time utilizing graphite. Once more, to make the design more precise, I began by sketching a grid.

I had a great time working on this project. Although blending graphite is more difficult than blending charcoal, it was first challenging to grasp the blending techniques. 

I gained knowledge of shading and blending methods as well as hatching and cross hatching techniques.
