The North Carolina State Assessments are designed to “measure, track, and monitor student progress or mastery of particular learning objectives and expectations over time.” (NCDPI, 2022). The assessment data helps students, families, teachers, schools, and districts visualize how students are performing. Assessment results assist leaders in making informed decisions to address gaps in student comprehension, as well as improvements to teaching and learning.

All students enrolled in public schools in North Carolina are required to participate in the state-mandated assessments. This includes students enrolled in the Future Ready Occupational Course of Study.
Vance Virtual Village Academy requires all students to participate in state-mandated assessments, diagnostic assessments, and other assessments as mandated by the Vance County Schools district policy. Failure to participate in the required assessments may impact student enrollment and/or grade-level promotion.
All V3A parents and/or guardians have the right to request and be provided with information regarding any state or Public School Unit (PSU) policy regarding student participation in any mandated assessment.
